Michael (Mick) Doherty, St. Al’s class of 1980, has two masters degrees (one in English from BGSU and the other in Rhetoric & Technical Communications from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute). He is a senior writer for Texas Health Resources, a health system of more than a dozen hospitals in North Texas. He also is the co-founder and co-manager of Batter’s Box Interactive Magazine, Canada’s most popular baseball blog.
Lauren Marshall, St. Al’s class of 2007, and a junior at BGHS has been selected to represent Ohio as a National Youth Delegate to the 2010 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University. Lauren was chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in leadership in the sciences and conservation studies. She joins a select group of only 150 students from all over the country.
Jenna (Stechschulte) Shinaberry, St. Al’s Class of 2000,graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She was married in June 2008 and has a one year old daughter.
Jessica Sikula, St. Al’s class of 2006, was named the BGHS January student of the month by the Exchange Club of Bowling Green. Jessica has been a top honors student all four years of high school while taking honors coursework and currently holds a 4.2 GPA. She is currently ranked 7th in her class and is a member of the National Honor Society. Jessica is a member of the varsity soccer team where she earned all league and all district honors, varsity basketball team, equestrian team, calculus club, and FFA. The community organizations she is involved with include Wood County 4-H, Wood County Junior Fair Board, Black Swamp Arts Festival, and the American Paint Horse Association. Jessica is also very proud to be a head coach in the Upward Basketball Program where she has coached 5-8th grade girls for three years. After graduation Jessica plans to attend The Indiana Institute of Technology where she has been accepted into the Biomedical Engineering program. She will also play soccer for the Warriors and has received both academic and athletic scholarships.
Colin MacRitchie, St. Al’s class of 2003, made 2009 Fall Quarter’s Dean’s List at Ohio University.
